The May 16 Wausau Herald included a superb editorial on drunk driving that lists the decision points that could have avoided this extraordinary tragedy including: the server who didn't cut them off, the friends that didn't offer a ride and the bar that had run out of Safe Ride vouchers and more.
Rather than allow blame to simply be placed on "the culture," the Herald enumerates the specific items that each had the ability to change the circumstances. It's a powerful piece and well worth your time.
