Lodi CREW (Community Resource Enrichment Wellness) is sponsoring a really neat (and FREE!) event: Kick Off of Ultimate Frisbee this Sunday, July 13! The event will be held on Sundays, July 13 - August 17 from 4-5:00 p.m. at the Lodi High School football practice field. The event is open to students from 6th grade - College.
Here is some info from the flyer: Come out and play Ultimate Frisbee with your friends while celebrating all kids with all abilities! There will be time to learn and play at your own level, as participants will be split up into teams. After the games, there will be a light snack provided.
The event is sponsored by Special Olympics "Project UNIFY." Special Olympics Unified Sports is an inclusive program which combines individuals with intellectual disabilities (athletes) and individuals without intellectual disabilities (partners) on sports teams for training and competition. By taking it out of the classroom and onto the playing field, students from both the general education and special education classrooms experience new social opportunities and make new friends they may not have otherwise. These experiences create a culture of inclusion and foster understanding in schools and communities, goals of Project UNIFY.
You don't want to miss out on the fun this summer, so be sure to gather your friends and come on out! For more information, please contact CREW at 608-592-1076.
