Lodi Pride at Treinen Farm was aMAZEing!

LCAT would like to thank everyone who came to Treinen Farm on Sunday, September 28 for the Lodi Community Day at the Maze.  What a beautiful fall day to celebrate and enhance community connections!  Research tells us time and time again that young people will thrive when they have at least three adults that know, affirm and nourish them.  It is even more powerful for a young person when their “champions” include family, school and community.

What happens when a young person has adults who celebrate them?  The outcomes can be compelling: increases in school success, compassion for others, leadership, decreases in violence and decreases in alcohol and other drug use.  Thus a huge thank you to our "Celebrity Scoopers" who spent the day scooping over 500 bowls of ice cream, greeting every child and parent, and letting them know with that simple gesture how important they are!

Thank you to Elementary Principal Lyle Hendrickson (and his wife!), Primary Principal Sherri Endres-Lovell, Lodi Police Chief Scott Klicko and School Board Members Sue Miller, Bill Wipperfurth and H. Adam Steinberg.  As stated by Peter Benson, President and CEO of Search Institute, “The greatest gift we can give someone is connection!”

A special thank you also goes out to Dianne Hamilton for picking up the ice cream from Lickety Split and to Stephanie, Drew and Simon Ricks for running to the store for more ice cream when we were running out!  LCAT has the BEST volunteers!  See below for some pictures from the Lodi Community Day at the Maze.
